In the past, a lot of time and money was spent on discovering a daydream-like Tam Dao area. Tay Thien area is also an ideal destination. It was also a stop by an Indian delegation of King Asoka to build Nele citadel and Asoka tower. A number of temples, which was constructed thousands of years ago, reveals the original vestige of Buddha’s birth. Many historic relics with pure natural beauty can be found there as well, including Bird Island in Dai Lai, Bat Cave in Ngoc Thanh, Binh Son Tower in Song Lo, Huong Canh communal house cluster in Binh Xuyen, Bay Waterfall in Lap Thach, Phu Da Stone Temple, and Tung Van Pagoda (Vinh Tuong).
The Vinh Phuc provincial authorities, functional organs, and people do their utmost to preserve and restore the landscapes and relic sites so as to make it worth to visit for travelers all around the world.
In order to keep up with the development trend of the society while still upholding its traditional values, the Vinh Phuc provincial authorities issued Resolution No.01 and Action program No.41 to develop tourism potential, increase the average service growth rate to more than 10% per year, contributing to promoting the economy of the province.
Therefore, many trade-service development programs have been implemented in accordance with the reality and potential of each area. During the 2011-2022 period, Vinh Phuc set up nearly 200 planning projects, with many large and important projects related to tourism in Bac Ngoc Thanh, Lang Ha and Van Truc lakes, Bo Lac lake, Sang mountain, Tam Dao I and II tourist areas, etc., together with policies, contributing to luring various potential investors.
The projects include the five-star Flamigo Dai Lai with a total registered investment capital of nearly VND 5 trillion; Tam Dao II of Sun Group with a total investment capital of nearly VND 3 trillion in phase 1; FLC Luxury Resort Vinh Phuc phase 1 with a total investment of about 600 billion VND; Tay Thien cable car project of Lac Hong Investment Joint Stock Company with an investment of nearly VND 250 billion, among others. The province also owns 544 tourist accommodation facilities, including four five-star hotels, two four-star hotels, and 75 other one-to-three star hotels. They all meet national standards - a proof of the land’s magical charm.
In the 2015-2019 period alone, the province invested VND 2,285 billion in the tourism sector, of which more than VND 159 billion was spent on investment in infrastructure in the tourist area, accounting for 6.9% of the total investment capital. During the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the province, together with enterprises, created suitable mechanisms to welcome visitors and made efforts to improve the investment environment and allocate grounds for tourism projects.
Vinh Phuc develops tourism via various types, targeting the visitors’ demand, which are ecotourism products, resorts, seminars (MICE), discovery, and sports tourism (Golf)… to attract domestic and foreign tourists. Destinations with attractive tours and typical regional tourism products, such as Camellia petelotii Var tea, Chinese caterpillar fungus, and honey pollen... have left a deep impression on visitors.
Talented French artist Yves Coueslant has taken the journey back to Tam Dao to look back on memories of the time when he brought his family here. The enchanted land inspired him to create a famous perfume. Raw materials like sandalwood, cedar wood, and cypress create relaxation and recall memories of Tam Dao. So far, the brand name “Tam Dao” has become one of the leading perfume products of Diptyque.
From being unrecognized on the world tourism map, Vinh Phuc has now become a bright tourism spot via of Flamigo Dai Lai Resort - Top 10 beautiful resorts; Tam Dao National Tourist Area - Top Impressive Destination in the world. In 2011, Vinh Phuc has only welcomed 1.7 million tourists. However, in 2019, the number of tourists increased to nearly 5 million, and tourism revenue reached nearly VND 2,000 billion.
With an open system and strict pandemic prevention and control during the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in the years 2020 and 2022, travelers continued to visit Vinh Phuc. Tourists to Vinh Phuc reached 8.2 million in 2022, a fourfold increase over 2021, with 73,500 of those visitors coming from outside the country. Total tourism revenue reached roughly VND 3,600 billion in 2022, a 2.3 fold increase over 2021.

Vinh Phuc province maps out many programs and targets in order to further develop tourism, such as promoting tourism in line with domestic and international cultural and sports events; organizing tours to introduce tourism products to tourists around the world; exploiting the strengths and potentials of various forms of eco-tourism, cultural and spiritual tourism, among others.
In Vinh Phuc’s tourism development strategy with a vision to 2030, resort and ecological tourism associated with entertainment, cultural and spiritual tourism and service tourism in combination with hosting seminars will contribute to the tourism sustainable development of the province.
At the same time, Vinh Phuc will also promote and attract strategic investors to build new complex service zones and large-scale tourism projects. The province is on the way to become a world-class tourism hub.
