Visiting the district, tourists can enjoy the beauty of these “terraced streams” which are built daily by generations of local farmers called “barefoot artists.” They can also acknowledge the values of labor and creativity of the locals as well.

These days when there is summer rain, mountain fields in Bat Xat are water-logged and the locals start ploughing their fields. From above, terraced fields in different sizes and shapes look more eye-catching and charming at dawn and in the afternoon.

Below are photos of the “terraced streams.”

Sparkling in the afternoon sun
Virtual blur in the morning mist
Ready to welcome the water-logged season
