The impressive number reaffirms Vietnam’s position as a safe, stable, and increasingly attractive destination on the global tourism map. Notably, this marks the first time the country has welcomed more than 2 million international visitors per month for four consecutive months, as well as the first time in the first four months arrivals have reached 8.8 million.

In the first four months of 2026, the top 10 source markets for Vietnam’s inbound tourism were China, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Taiwan (China), Cambodia, the U.S., India, Japan, Australia, and the Philippines.

Significantly, the market structure continues to shift toward greater diversity and balance, with the emergence of several high-potential markets. Russia, in particular, recorded a remarkable surge of nearly 300% compared to the same period last year. This growth has been driven by the strong recovery of direct flight routes, rising demand for long-stay resort travel, and Vietnam’s competitive advantages in safety, amenities, natural conditions, and cost, making it a leading destination for Russian travelers in Asia.
