Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet congratulated Mr. Can for his reappointment.

The reappointment is to recognize the ambassador’s effective contribution in promoting tourism cooperation between Vietnam and the RoK during his first tenure from 2017 to 2020.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet hands over the appointment decision of “Vietnamese Tourism Ambassador to the Republic of Korea (RoK) for the 2021-24 tenure” to Mr. Ly Xuong Can.

Deputy Minister Viet hoped that Mr. Can and his partners will strive their best to complete the mission in the time to come. He said that Vietnam considers the RoK one of the key markets of tourism; therefore, he urged Mr. Can and his partners to seek resources to develop activities of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT)’s representative office in the RoK and regularly update a website on Vietnam’s tourism in the Korean language, among others.

For his part, Mr. Ly Xuong Can expressed his delight at being appointed as Vietnamese Tourism Ambassador to the RoK for the second tenure. He hoped to contribute more to the development of the Vietnamese tourism sector, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
