The Thua Thien-Hue Provincial People’s Committee has worked with Singapore's Changi Airport to discuss a project to upgrade Phu Bai International Airport, which is located to the south of central Hue city, former imperial capital of Vietnam.
The project will be carried out through two phases, the first one with total investment capital of US$27 million, and the second with US$110 million.
Phu Bai Airport is expected to receive a variety of large planes during the first phase so that it can soon reach international standards.
The aim of upgrading Phu Bai International Airport is to increase the quality of human resources and attract airlines worldwide to open flights to Hue. The quality of management must be increased to effectively control materials and technology in order to meet the criteria of a modern international airport.
