Also in Dakrong district, visitors can enjoy majestic beauty of mountains and forests, and taste some typical culinary products of the Van Kieu and Pa Co people such as glutinous rice cooked in bamboo tube, black sticky rice, goat meat, fresh fish caught from streams, and local chicken.

To develop tourism, Dakrong district has been building brands for a number of traditional handicraft products, including brocade weaving, household item knitting, and broom making, to attract more tourists to visit and experience. Along with that, the district regularly maintains activities of art troupes and gong teams in A Ngo, Ta Rut, and Dakrong communes.

Thai Ngoc Chau, Chairman of Dakrong district People's Committee, said that “Preserving and promoting the cultural values of the Pa Co and Van Kieu ethnic minority people associated with cultural development, new people and new style building always receive attention from local agencies, departments. This has helped develop tourism, boost economic development, ensure social welfare, and improve local people’s income and life.”

For many years now, tourists have often visited Chenh Venh village, Huong Phung commune, Huong Hoa district - an attractive entertainment place to learn about the traditional culture of local people. Here, unique cultural features are always preserved and promoted by the Van Kieu people. They include stilt houses, culinary culture, traditional crafts, unique festivals and customs such as the gong playing, folk singing and traditional musical instrument making. With those characteristics, Huong Hoa district is always determined that preserving and promoting the cultural values of the Pa Co and Van Kieu ethnic minority people is the key to building an attractive tourist environment, thus promoting tourism.

In order to develop tourism associated with the preservation and sustainable development of local traditional culture, Quang Tri province needs to invest more resources in preserving the intangible cultural values of local ethnic minority groups in the area; developing specific policies to support artisans; and devising plans and policies to train and foster human resources to preserve, and bringing into play the cultural identity of each locality.
