Outstanding tourism businesses honored
PANO – 91 outstanding tourism businesses were honored at a ceremony, jointly held by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Vietnam Tourism Association on July 8 in Hanoi. The event was part of activities in celebration of the 57th founding anniversary of the Vietnam’s tourism industry.

Launched in 1999, the Vietnam Tourism Award, the most prestigious award in the tourism sector, aimed to acknowledge great contributions of organizations, businesses, and individuals to the development of Vietnam’s tourism industry as well as urge tourism businesses to continuously raise the quality of their products and services to augment their integration capabilities and popularize Vietnam’s tourism to the world.
Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister (PM) Vu Duc Dam congratulated the honored on their achievements and hailed strong growth of the sector in recent years. In addition, Dam highly appreciated locals’ efforts and initiatives to develop tourism over the past time. The hospitality and high sense of responsibility of the Vietnamese people for tourism helped improve the tourism environment in Vietnam, contributing to attracting more tourists to the S-shaped country.
He asked the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, relevant agencies, and local authorities to further create favorable conditions for tourism businesses and continue improving the tourism environment. The Deputy PM hoped that, with efforts, Vietnam’s tourism will strongly and sustainably develop in the years to come.

Speaking at a meeting in celebration of the 57th founding anniversary of the Vietnam’s tourism industry, the same day in Hanoi, Head of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Van Tuan underscored great contributions of the tourism sector to socio-economic development of the nation over the past years. To turn tourism into a key economic sector, agencies, organizations, and individuals should continue making more efforts and contributing talent and strength to the development of the sector, Tuan said.
After the meeting, volunteers from vocational schools and youths from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism cycled along streets in Hanoi.
