International tourism fair concludes in Hanoi
PANO – The Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) 2018 concluded on April 1 at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace in Hanoi.
The four-day event, VITM 2018, has become the main festival of Vietnamese tourism enterprises. Thousands of Vietnamese and international tourism businesses have promoted their products to tourists and business partners and participated in seminars, press conferences, and tourism fora.

The event featured over 500 pavilions from 675 firms, including 112 pavilions of trade promotion agencies from 21 countries and territories, not to mention the approximately 3,000 entrepreneurs who came to the fair to seek business opportunities. VITM has maintained its position as the leading international tourism fair in the region with more than 70,000 visitors during the four days of the event.
Travel businesses of Vietnam and other countries introduced their products at the event. Statistics of 21 travel agencies showed that a total 29,300 guests booked their package tours worth VND 245 billion.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Vu The Binh, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association said that under the theme “Online tourism – Vietnam moves towards Industry 4.0,” the VITM 2018 introduced numerous activities, policies, and tourism products that facilitated enterprises actively seeking opportunities in the digital era.
