“Ho Chi Minh City Hotels and Restaurants 2016”, a tourism publication was launched on August 30.

The 144-page edition, published by the Thong Tan Publishing House of the Vietnam News Agency in coordination with the municipal Department of Tourism and the Tuoi Tre Newspaper, aims to provide information on 3-5 star hotels, restaurants and shopping areas.

The publication will be available in restaurants, hotels and on international flights.

According to the organizing board, the book will also help popularize the image of service providers, boosting the city’s tourism development.

The number of international visitors to the city accounts for 55 percent of the nation’s total, generating 40 percent of total tourism value, and accounting for 10 percent of the city’s GDP, according to Deputy Director of the municipal Tourism Department Pham Huy Binh.

The city is home to 1,819 hotels, of which 118 are 3-5 star ones with 14,700 rooms.
