HCM City kicks off new helicopter tour
PANO – On April 29, the Ho Chi Minh municipal Department of Tourism, in coordination with Military Hospital 175 and the Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company (VNH South), kicked off a helicopter tour, themed “Viewing Ho Chi Minh City from above," on April 29.
The tour is one of the activities to mark the 47th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 – 2022) and part of the “Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City” program developed to attract domestic and foreign tourists.

On the day, two first flights, carrying 30 passengers, were conducted by TST Tourist, the municipal Department of Tourism, Military Hospital 175, and VNH South. One took off from Tan Son Nhat International Airport and the other from the 8th storey of the hospital.
Talking about the helicopter tour, Military Hospital 175’s Director Major General Nguyen Hong Son said that together with fulfilling assigned political missions, the hospital will try its best and create favorable conditions for people to enjoy the best services. He emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism sector has shown its activeness and creativeness as it has closely worked with other sectors to develop various products and services to serve tourists, and the “Viewing Ho Chi Minh City from above" tour by helicopter is a typical example. The product is taking full advantage of available infrastructure and businesses’ potential.
Joining the tour, which uses medium-lift helicopters AW189 and EC-155B1, passengers will have an opportunity to view famous places in Ho Chi Minh City from above, including Aeon Mall Tan Phu, Aeon Mall Binh Tan, RMIT, Phu My Bridge, Thu Thiem Bridge, Landmark81, and Binh Quoi Tourism Area. Prices range from VND 4 to 5 million (174 – 272 USD), depending on the length of the tour and additional services.
At present, Saigontourist, Vietravel, Fiditour – Vietluxtour, and TST Tourist are offering the service. Reportedly, there are 200 passengers having booked the tour during the South Liberation and National Reunification holiday.
