Participating in the Young Stars AD Competition 2022, students from universities around the world submitted their entries about ad campaign ideas to help Busan (the Republic of Korea) win the bid to host the 2030 Busan World Exposition.

Two students Nguyen Khac Hai Linh and Nguyen Trong Nhan from RMIT University Vietnam became the only team from Vietnam named on the list of winners. They pocketed a bronze medal for their “Unseen Version of Busan” submission.

The two students told unseen stories of Busan in a place seen by 169 member countries of BIE voting for the expo’s host country. They used invisible ink (it is revealed when exposed to UV light) to overprint the original bid. Each page featured images of Busan in the past. However, under the UV light, the page turned into a new version reflecting the magic transformation of the city.

Dr. Farida Kbar, Senior Program Manager of the Professional Communication Sector at RMIT University Vietnam, underlined that winning five big prizes at the international AD competitions showed Vietnamese students’ talent and creativity. They will continue pushing their limits and sharing their great ideas with the global creative community.
