Former WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy, who was appointed by French President Emmanuel Macron as the inter-ministerial delegate in charge of the French bid to host the 2025 World Expo, said at a press conference on December 18 that after more than a week of training in France, the two Vietnamese students accompanied him on a visit to Vietnam.

This is his second visit to Vietnam in 2017 with the aim of calling for Vietnam's support of the French bid to host the 2025 World Expo.

He also said that France has completed its candidature preparation since 2012 with the theme "Sharing our Knowledge, Caring for Our Planet". France hopes to become a place where every culture, every knowledge creation and every project would be able to be displayed and contribute to preparing for the future.

As a person who witnessed the moment when Vietnam jointed WTO 10 years ago, Mr. Pascal Lamy affirmed, "Over the last years, Vietnam has actively participated in the World Expos on Water and Environment Protection. These themes are also similar to the theme that we are running for the 2025 event. We hope to receive the support of Vietnam."

World Expo is an international event aimed at educating the people, sharing creativity, promoting advancement and encouraging cooperation.

World Expo is hosted in a chosen country with the participation of many countries, cities, businesses, organizations and people over the world.
