The Vietnam STEM Festival (VSF) was first held in 2015 at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The festival was the initiative of the Spark Magazine (formerly a publication of the Science and Development Newspaper under the Ministry of Science and Technology) and the STEM Alliance. Along with encouraging Vietnamese students to further study and research in the field of science and technology, the VSF 2023 was held to raise the public’s awareness of the role of science, technology and innovation, promote the application of science and technology in the reality, raise research capacity, and enhance education on basic knowledge and skills about creative thinking, adaptability to the requirements of the fourth Industrial Revolution.

This year's event includes major activities, such as national STEM competitions (missile shooting, robot), STEM seminars and forums, STEM promotion exhibitions, and other experiential activities, to name but a few.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh emphasized that digital transformation is an inevitable trend and a direct solution to improve competitive advantage and competence. Therefore, STEM education can be seen as a suitable approach to broaden youngsters’ knowledge and skills about digital transformation. It should be further promoted in the time to come.

On the occasion, the logo, identity, and the organizing board of the VSF 2023 were officially introduced.
