Man extended his best wishes to Buddhist followers nationwide and expressed his appreciation of their joint efforts in the country’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and their following of disease prevention and control regulations.

Lord Buddha’s birthday this year takes place amid a range of other major events, he noted, such as the 45th anniversary of the liberation of Vietnam’s south and National Reunification Day, International Labour Day, and the 130th birthday of late President Ho Chi Minh.

He asked that the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Buddhist dignitaries and followers continue promoting the strength of great national unity and join hands with nations to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic, boost socioeconomic development, ensure defence and security, and increase Vietnam’s regional and international profile.
