Viet Duc Friendship Hospital has successfully transplanted organs for four patients.
Associate Prof. Nguyen Tien Quyet, the hospital’s Director, said that, on April 14th, with agreement from a donor’s relatives, the hospital conducted heart, liver and kidney transplant operations for patients in Hai Phong, Hanoi and in other centres in the South, respectively.
More than 130 doctors and nurses took part in the transplant operations.
Dr. Quyet said that the liver transplant operation was the most difficult, followed by the heart and the kidney transplants.
The patients have so far recovered and notably, two patients with kidney transplants are now walking around and recovering well, while two other patients have had their mobility return to normal.
