Troubled fishermen saved at sea
PANO - Ship KN 469 of Fisheries Surveillance Team 4 sent troops and medical personnel to provide health checkups and necessities for troubled fishermen on a fishing ship in the Truong Sa (Spratly) waters on August 19.

Previously, on August 16, ship QNa 90839 TS, owned by Nguyen Van Be from Quang Nam province, had its propeller broken when fishing near Truong Sa island district of Khanh Hoa province.
At 10:35 am, August 18, the distressed boat went adrift about 15 nautical miles off the Northeast of Song Tu Tay Island of Truong Sa island district.
The captain immediately sent a mayday signal to the mainland.
After receiving the information, ship KN 469 quickly ran to the scene and towed the distressed boat with 52 men on board to Song Tu Tay Island safely at 11:30 pm the same day.
