The initiative addressed the housing needs of 608 poor, near-poor, and policy-beneficiary families facing housing difficulties. Of these, 370 houses were newly constructed while 238 underwent major renovations.
As much as 60 million VND (2,300 USD) was allocated for each newly-built house, and 40 million VND for each renovation. All houses feature solid walls, iron roofs, toilets, and other essential amenities.
The program's foundation was laid when the provincial Party Committee's Standing Board issued a decision on establishing a steering committee for social housing development and elimination of temporary and dilapidated housing. Its early completion has not only stabilized the lives of poor, near-poor and policy-beneficiary families but also contributed to sustainable poverty reduction and new-style rural area building in the locality.
