The Mekong Delta province of An Giang plans to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses across the locality by the end of June. 

As of May 13, the province broke ground on 2,957 homes under this program, including 2,453 new constructions and 465 renovations. The province has already completed and delivered 2,482 homes to residents. As much as 215.5 billion VND (8.3 million USD) has been mobilized for the efforts.

Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment Tran Minh Nhut reported that five of the province's eleven districts, towns and cities have accomplished their housing improvement goals, with Long Xuyen and Chau Doc cities being the first to complete their targets in Quarter 1.

To realize the set goal, An Giang directs, monitors, and regularly inspects the implementation of housing support policies to ensure progress and effectiveness.

It has intensified communications to raise public awareness of the program and encourage community participation.
