For example, Chau Thanh Boarding Secondary School for ethnic minorities was deteriorating for years, directly causing difficulties for the teaching and studying activities. Since 2022, funded by Program 1719, the school has been upgraded, contributing to raising education and training quality. Especially, in the 2023-2024 academic year, the school invested nearly VND 8 billion in repairing facilities and buying new equipment. Teacher Do Van Nol, Principal of Chau Thanh Boarding Secondary School, noted that over the past years, the school has worked with authorities of local communes and townlets and parents of students to take measures to raise education quality. In addition, the school also organized cultural and sports activities for students.

Meanwhile, Huynh Cuong Boarding School for ethnic minorities in Ward 3, Soc Trang city, which is home to Khmer ethnic minority students, has over the past time attached importance to investing money in teaching facilities, thanks to the support of local authorities, students’ parents, and sponsors, so as to raise education quality.

According to Director of the Department of Education and Training of Soc Trang province Chau Tuan Hong, staffers of local boarding schools for ethnic minority groups have tried their best to take care of ethnic minority students, creating favorable conditions for them to study. They also ensured welfare for ethnic minority teachers and students, along with holding activities to preserve and promote ethnic cultural identities.

To raise education quality for ethnic minority students, in the time ahead, Soc Trang province will carry out policies on developing education and training and raising teaching and studying quality at boarding schools for ethnic minority groups, trying to have 100% of ethnic minority schools in the province meet national standards by 2025.
