Earlier at 19 hours on June 11, fisherman Pham Huu Nhan felt tired and unable to speak and walk and had right hemiplegia while fishing squid at sea and was taken to Song Tu Tay for emergency aid by trawler QNa 91964 TS.

Having been reported on the case, Military Central Hospital 108’s medical team, who are working at Song Tu Tay’s infirmary, received and provided first aid for the patient.

Doctors diagnosed that fisherman Pham Huu Nhan was in a coma and needed monitoring for ischemic stroke. Having consulted doctors from Military Central Hospital 108, doctors on the island decided to apply methods, including oxygen breathing through mask, intravenous fluids against cerebral edema, antibiotics, urinary catheters, and gastric tubes, among others to treat the patient.

At present, the patient is staying in the island’s infirmary and being monitored by its doctors and nurses.

Fisherman Phan Huu Nhan was born in 1968 in Tam Hai commune, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province. Trawler QNa 91964 TS was steered by Tran Van Do from the same province.
