Launched in 2013, the program aimed to seek and honor outstanding youths with disabilities, who have overcome their difficulties and hardships, and made considerable contribution to the development of the community.

In the 2014-2019 period, four editions of the program were held in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Dong, and Nghe An provinces with the participation of more than 36,000 youths. Other youth sub-committees also organized 2,250 events to honor 546,700 youths with disabilities.

This year, after over a month of implementation, the organizing panel received 75 entries from 46 provinces throughout the country. After the assessment, the organizers selected 50 outstanding youths to honor, of whom six are ethnic minorities.

At the event, the honored youths received gifts and saving accounts, worth VND 10 million each.

Within the framework of the program, the organizing board also launched a writing contest “The shining Vietnamese will.”

After evaluating nearly 200 entries submitted, the jury awarded one first, one second, one third, and three consolation prizes.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Ngoc Luong, President of the Vietnam Youth Federation, called on Party committees and authorities at all levels, departments, ministries, sectors, as well as domestic and foreign organizations to pay more attention to youths with disabilities to improve social welfare for them and help them quickly integrate into the society.
