Scientists have discovered at least two couples of the bird Gorsachius magnifcus, (or the White-eared Night Heron) of which, one pair have successfully hatched two young, in the Ba Be National Park in the northern Province of Bac Can.
The species only lives in wet and tropical forests in the China-Himalaya region, and in three Indochinese countries, including Vietnam.
This discovery has an important meaning because the species is thought to be endangered in Vietnam.
