National Archive Centre 3, under the National Archive Department, received various documents of late Academician Vu Tuyen Hoang and presented the medal of “For the cause of Archive” to his wife, Nguyen Thi Hong Nga, on January 6th.
These 800 manuscript documents come from his numerous studies, speeches, poems and paintings during the period of 1964-2007, when he worked as a Member of the National Assembly, Chairman of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and Chairman of Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association.
Also, there are hundreds of scientific studies for national agriculture development, numerous sketches of landscapes and celebrities he met.
According to the leadership of National Archive Centre 3, these great documents enrich the national archive, as well as create a large source of information for learning and studying, and help readers learn more about Prof. Vu Tuyen Hoang’s life and career.
Academician Vu Tuyen Hoang, with a Ph.D degree in agricultural sciences, was named Academician of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the Russian Federation and the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World, Southeast Asia. Apart from Labour and Independence medals, he also won a Ho Chi Minh Prize for Science and Technology and an International Rice Prize in Japan.
