N.A. Standing Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man speaks at the event.

The official spoke at the meeting with delegates of the fourth “For AO victims” Congress for the 2021-2026 period in Hanoi on December 27.

He said that even the war ended long ago, the impacts of toxic chemicals to the Vietnamese people are still persistent.

Over the past years, the Party, N.A., Government, Vietnam Fatherland Front and the entire society have paid special attention to overcoming the consequences of war in general and chemical war in particular with positive results. However, the efforts have not been able to compensate the misery and loss that generations of soldiers, revolutionaries, and their families have to suffer.

He stressed that dealing with the consequences of post-war toxic chemicals is both an urgent, long-term and humanitarian task and responsibility of the whole society.

Therefore, he also asked the whole political system to implement the Party’s and State’s policies for AO victims well, creating favorable conditions for the associations of victims of AO/Dioxin at all levels to fulfill their assigned tasks in the current context.
