Accordingly, the agencies will send VND 1 billion of relief to each of the two most heavily-hit provinces of Son La and Yen Bai and VND 500 million to each of the provinces of Lai Chau, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Dien Bien and Lao Cai. Apart from that, the city will support each family of dead victims with VND 10 million and each family of the injured with VND 5 million. The donations come from the Fund for disaster relief of the city.

The same day, Hanoi’s Red Cross Society received a donation of about VND 567 million to support recent flood-hit people. The society has sent its personnel to the hit localities to hand over the donation to the victims.

* On August 9, the Central Commission for Education and Information launched a donation meeting to support locals in Northern mountainous provinces to overcome flood consequences. The commission’s staff donated at least one-day wage each and the proceeds will be sent to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to hand over to victims.

* The same day, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society called on its chapters nationwide to support people recently hit by the floods in Northern mountainous provinces; the donation campaign runs till the end of September. The Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society has also launched a messaging campaign from August 9 to October 7, 2017 to gather more donations for flood-hit victims.

* On the afternoon of August 9, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs launched a donation drive to support people hit by recent floods in Northern mountainous provinces. Each staff of the ministry donated at least one-day wage and right at the launching ceremony, the organizing panel received VND 250 million of donation.
