More donations nationwide for flood victims in northwestern region
PANO – The Party Committee and the Trade Union of the Office of the National Assembly (NA) kicked off a donation drive on August 10 to support flood victims in Northwestern mountainous provinces.

The event was attended by NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, NA deputies who are attending the 13
th session of the NA Standing Committee and staff of the office. Each person donated at least one-day wage. VND 250 million collected at the event is sent to the victims at the soonest time.
Apart from the NA Office, on the same day donation campaigns were also held at various other ministries and agencies. In more details, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs donated VND 320 million; the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism donated VND 400 million; the Ho Chi Minh Academy of Politics called on its staff and learners to contribute at least one-day wage to support flood-hit people; the Vietnam Social Insurance collected VND 1 billion from its staff at the launch of the donation campaign; by August 10, the industry and trade sector collected nearly VND 3 billion from its staff. Meanwhile,a mission of he Hanoi chapter of the Vietnam Red Cross Society visited and provided locals in Quai To commune of Tuan Giao district, Dien Bien province and supported Mu Cang Chai district of Yen Bai province with VND 100 million and a number of other necessities. Earlier, on August 8, the Party Committee and Trade Union of the Ministry of Science and Technology collected more than VND 300 million from its staff.
The donations will soon be sent to flood-hit localities to ease difficulties and hardship for local people.
