PANO – The Vietnamese Woman’s Association and the Thua Thien – Hue Provincial Border Guard have reviewed their program to support women in border areas and off-shore islands.
Over the past several years, border soldiers, in cooperation with members of the Vietnamese Woman’s Association, have launched various activities to help local women improve their living standards and education levels.
In particular, 41 illiteracy eradication classes have been opened for 941 women living in border areas and islands.
Nearly 100,000 women have been provided with loans worth more than VND 500 billion to start and expand their own businesses.
