Flying Eye Hospital deployed in Can Tho city
PANO - Numerous medical techniques will be transferred to Vietnamese doctors and nurses during the Flying Eye Hospital Program organized by Orbis, an international non-governmental organization, in Can Tho city.
The launching ceremony of the program was held by Orbis and the Can Tho Health Department at Can Tho International Airport on May 8.
According to an Orbis representative, the program aims to give in-depth training in terms of anesthetic, nursing practices, and use of medical equipment related to ophthalmology to Vietnamese doctors and medical staff via theoretical lessons and practical training on operation, health
check-up and consultation.
At the ceremony, Le Van Tan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Can Tho city People’s Committee said the first-ever deployment of such a hospital will help improve local medical staff’s competency in diagnosing and curing eye-related diseases and contribute to Can Tho’s process of becoming a prestigious city in providing ophthalmological treatment in the Mekong Delta region.
The program will be carried out till May 19 by two Orbis’ partners, namely Can Tho Ophthalmology-Odonto-Stomatology Hospital and Can Tho Pediatric Hospital.
