The EVNCPC grid-tied solar-rooftop system was designed and built by the Central Power Electronic Measurement Equipment Manufacturing Center (CPCEMEC) on an area of 298sq.m. Generating a total capacity of 50kWp, the system use solar panels with an efficiency of 16.5 percent by Japanese Mitsubishi Electric and Germany’s Inverter SMA whose productivity is 98.4 percent.

The work on this system started at the end of August this year. Since its operation in October, it has produced an average of 108kWh per day, meeting more than 10 percent of the power consumption of the Corporation’s building.

At the ceremony, the corporation received two electric cars modeled 175MY i-MIEV from Mitsubishi Motors Vietnam. These electric cars will be used to serve the corporation’s guests in Da Nang with the aim of popularizing the use of smart grid and different kinds of clean power to contribute to environmental protection and enhanced image of the city of environment of Da Nang.

The corporation also put into operation an electric vehicle quick charging station with maximum capacity of 30kWp and is capable of quick and fully charging an electronic car in 30 minutes, allowing the vehicle to operate in a distance of 160km at a maximum speed of 130km per hour. The station’s 30sq.m roof is installed with solar panels and was built in September this year.

Da Nang becomes the first locality in Vietnam to have an electric car charging station using solar power. It demonstrates that the young and dynamic Da Nang is an environmentally friendly city which develops in line with new technologies.
