Disabled girls will have a chance to compete in a beauty contest, entitled “Beauty of crescent moon 2013”.
With the message “Let’s join hands for a society without barriers and for the rights of disabled people”, the event creates an opportunity for disabled girls to exchange with each other in order to change social views of disabled people’s abilities and rights.
The event will honour contestants’ strong will, intelligence, self-confidence and latent abilities, said Trinh Cong Thanh, Chairman of the Hanoi Disabled Youth Union, and Deputy of the contest’s organizing panel.
Since its launch in October 2012, more than 70 contestants across the country registered to take part in the event. 10 finalists will compete in the final round at the Melia Hanoi Hotel on April 14th.
The contest responds to the Vietnam Disabled People Day (April 18th).
