The NA Vice-Chairwoman expressed her gratitude to Van Kieu and Pa Co people who had sacrificed their lives for and been faithful to the revolution, the Party and Uncle Ho and emphasized the special ties between Vietnam and Laos.

Gifts presented to veterans of Huong Hoa district |
Huong Hoa contains one part of the legendary Truong Son Trail. In the past, regular divisions of the Liberation Army went through Huong Hoa to reach the Southern front to make the victory of the General Offensive and Uprising in Spring 1968.
In fierce combats with the foreign invaders, the Road 9-Khe Sanh theater became one of the most typical fronts which confirmed the strong will and intelligence of Vietnamese troops and people. The highlight of the Road 9-Khe Sanh epic is bright images of Van Kieu and Pa Co ethnic minority people who were whole-heartedly faithful to the revolution, supported troops and actively participated and served in combats.
The victory of Khe Sanh and liberation of Huong Hoa district in 1968 and other victories in Western Quang Tri’s mountainous areas were also closely attached to the combat solidarity and close ties between Vietnamese and Lao armies and peoples.
50 years have elapsed. Khe Sanh has been a new destination in the East-West economic corridor. Local people have overcome pains left by the war to contribute to local socio-economic development.
At the program, a number of gifts were presented to policy beneficiary families, needy households while underprivileged students with good academic records received scholarships.
