Earth Hour 2017 held in Hanoi
PANO - The Hanoi municipal People's Committee held a ceremony on the evening of March 25 at August Revolutionary Square to launch the Earth Hour 2017 campaign, to raise public awareness of climate change adaptation and energy saving.
A fashion collection made from recycled materials was on stage during the eventThe event was attended by Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Doan Toan and representatives of relevant sectors, organizations at home and abroad, among others.
Earth Hour, organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), is a worldwide grassroots movement to appeal entire people to protect the planet.
Themed “Light off to turn on the future”, the campaign encouraged local residents to turn off unnecessary electric devices from 20:00 - 21:30 p.m. The event takes place annually on the last Saturday of March.
