Da Nang’s firefighters launch special operation for APEC week
PANO – The firefighters of Da Nang City launched a 45-day special operation on fire prevention on October 4 to ensure adequate safety for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in 2017.
The event was attended by representatives of firefighting units and more than 100 firefighters of the city and districts in the area.

Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Tran Dinh Chung, Director of the Firefighting Police Force of Da Nang city asked units to actively detect and prevent any arson attempts or plots to cause fires while relevant authorities were also asked to conduct inspection at buildings across the city, guided by the firefighting forces, in order to ensure safety before and during the APEC week.
Accordingly, Da Nang’s firefighting forces held 20 fire drills for different situations at venues where APEC events will take place and at the accommodation of delegates. They also worked with other agencies to map out plans to respond to different terrorist attacks and rescue scenarios.
The city has also installed a network of security cameras all over the city and undertaken stringent measures to prevent disease outbreaks and ensure environmental sanitation, water supply, and quarantine services at Da Nang International Airport for the upcoming APEC week.
