Speaking at the ceremony, General Nguyen Trong Nghia expressed his pride in meeting generations of cadres and soldiers. He emphasized that this recognition reflects the Party and State’s appreciation for the significant contributions of local personnel and residents during the struggles for national liberation and protection of the Fatherland.
As a safe zone commune, Long Thuan will now benefit from preferential policies, particularly priority investment in infrastructure and socio-economic growth. Residents will also receive support for healthcare insurance, better medical access, and social welfare, education, and cultural benefits to enhance their overall material and spiritual well-being.

The Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs stressed that preserving, restoring, and promoting the values of revolutionary historical relics in the area must be given special attention. This will help educate younger generations about revolutionary traditions, foster patriotism, and inspire aspirations for national development.
He noted that this recognition also opens up opportunities for the locality to develop tourism, trade, and services, especially “return-to-the-roots” tourism, eco-tourism, and historical tourism, while strengthening public trust in the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, and motivating local authorities and people to work together in building a prosperous homeland.
