Australia supports Vietnam to overcome storm’s consequences
PANO - The Australian Embassy in Vietnam announced an Australian Government's grant of AUD 400,000 to help Vietnam overcome the consequences of Typhoon Damrey, the 12th storm to batter the East Sea (South China Sea) coast this year.
Accordingly, Australia will work with the NGO CARE International in Vietnam to support about 8,000 victims of Typhoon Damrey in the two provinces of Quang Nam and Thua Thien - Hue.
The Australian Government's aid is expected to help local people repair their houses and improve their livelihoods to help them re-stabilize life.
