A six students win medals.

With this achievement, Vietnam ranked fourth among 104 participating countries and territories, after China, the Republic of Korea and the U.S. This year’s results were evaluated to be better than those of last year and highly appreciated by the organizing panel. At last year’s event, which was held online, the Vietnamese delegation bagged one gold, two silver and three bronze medals. 

This year, two gold medals belonged to Ngo Quy Dang and Pham Viet Hung, students of the High School for Gifted Students of the University of Science under the Hanoi-based National University.

Pham Hoang Son from the High School for Gifted Students of Ho Chi Minh City-based National University and Nguyen Dai Duong from Lam Son High School for the Gifted, Thanh Hoa province bagged silver medals.

Vu Ngoc Minh from Vinh Phuc's High School for the Gifted and Hoang Tien Nguyen from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted in Nghe An province pocketed bronze medals.

Of the winning students, Ngo Quy Dang from High School for Gifted Students of the University of Science won the competition with a perfect score of 42/42.

The Vietnamese delegation’s achievements at the International Mathematical Olympiad 2022 continued affirming the quality of the country’s education in spite of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic over the past three years.
