A six-year-old child at a kindergarten in Vietnam has received a certificate from Cambridge University after passing the Key English Test with the score of 83 out of 100.
The child was Tran Nguyen Nam Phuong, who has studied English, since the age of three, at the Vietnam–American Language Centre.
After one year studying at the centre, Phuong attended the English tests at the levels of Starters, Movers and Flyers and got good results.
According to Cambridge University’s statistics, the certificates that Phuong received were usually given to children from 9 to 15 years old.
Pham Hoang Uyen, a member of Cambridge University’s test organisation in Vietnam confirmed that Phuong was a special case.
“She was the youngest student in Vietnam who has received four English certificates from the University at the age of six,” she said.
