All five Vietnamese students participating in the International Physics Olympiad 2016 in Switzerland brought home medals, including two golds, two silvers and one bronze.
The information was released by the General Department of Education Testing and Accreditation under the Ministry of Education and Training on July 17.

Dinh Thi Huong Thao, a 12th grader from Nam Dinh province’s Le Hong Phong high school for the gifted, and 11th grader Nguyen The Quynh of Quang Binh province’s Vo Nguyen Giap high school won gold medals.
The two silver medals went to Nguyen Quang Nam of the high school for the gifted under the Hanoi National University of Education and Pham Quang Minh from the Hanoi-Amsterdam high school for the gifted. Both are 12th graders.
Meanwhile, Pham Ngoc Nam, a 12th grader of the Le Hong Phong high school for the gifted in Nam Dinh province, bagged the bronze medal.
Thao was also named the “Best Performing Female Asian Participant” by the Association of Asia-Pacific Physics Societies.
