Vietnamese students won three gold medals at the 2014 International Mathematics Competition held in the Republic of Korea from July 21-26, said the Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.

Vietnam sent 20 students to the event, and all of them are from the Hanoi-based school.

In the individual contest, the Vietnamese delegation pocketed three golds, four silvers, eight bronzes and four consolidation prizes.

The gold medallists are Phan Minh Duc, Hoang Nguyen Minh Phuong, and Nguyen Nga Nhi.

Notably, Duc gained the maximum score of 150 and received a special award from the competition’s organisers.

The students also grabbed seven team prizes at the event.
