PANO – Vietnam persistently adheres to the policy of “One China”, reaffirmed Spokesman of the Vietnam Foreign Affairs Ministry Le Dung at a press conference on February 14.

When he was asked by reporters about Vietnam’s views on information about Taiwan’s holding a referendum on applying for UN membership in its capacity as a nation-state, the spokesman said, “Vietnam’s viewpoint on the Taiwan issue has been repeatedly reasserted and signed in joint communiqués and announcements between Vietnam and China. Vietnam persistently follows the policy “One China”, supports China’s reunification cause and objects to any attempt that aims to separate Taiwan into a nation-state, including Taiwan’s referendum on its UN membership under the name of Taiwan.”
