Construction of an international road, linking Kien Giang Province, Vietnam with Ton Hon (Kampot – Cambodia), began on December 8th .
The road is part of Kien Giang’s development plan to promote the border economy between the two countries.
Being built with provincial funding, the 2.7 km-long and 9m-wide road will cost VND 6 billion, with 1km of the road in Cambodian territory.
Kien Giang is also planning to establish a border district, Giang Thanh, which will be split from the current Kien Luong District, to more efficiently develop the border economic zone.
