PANO - A pontoon bridge across the Hong (Red) River in Phu Tho province was opened on August 22nd, in the presence of Lieutenant-General Duong Duc Hoa, Commander of Military Zone 2.

The bridge consists of 36 PMP pontoons, aiming to ensure local people’s travel while the Phong Chau bridge is being repaired.

Addressing the ceremony, General Hoa highly valued efforts of troops in Engineering Brigade 543 to overcome difficulties to erect the bridge and underlined that this achievement proved the unit’s quality of training courses and combat readiness in the new context.

From August 23rd, vehicles traveling on the National Highway 32C will cross the Phong Chau pontoon bridge.
