On February 26, the Party Committee of the Office of the Government held a ceremony to award the 70-year Party membership medal to Lieutenant-General Dong Sy Nguyen, former Politburo member and former Deputy Prime Minister.

On behalf of the Party and State, Politburo member and Prime Minister, Nguyen Tan Dung, presented the medal to the Lieutenant-General, and congratulated him on his 87th birthday.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Prime Minister stressed that cadre Dong Sy Nguyen is a loyal Party member, an excellent senior cadre of the State and the Vietnam People’s Army; and his name is glued to the legendary Truong Son Trail. “In studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example, he is a bright example for following generations to study and follow,” the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister said he hoped Lieutenant-General Dong Sy Nguyen would continue to contribute to the Party and State, especially to the leadership and management of the Government.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Lieutenant-General said he was deeply proud of the Communist Party of Vietnam, adding that he pledged to serve the Party to his last breath, as his oath to the Party.
