Hanoi Metropole, an luxurious hotel in Hanoi, was selected as the third best hotel in Asia, after the Mandarin Oriental in Thailand and the Ritz-Carton in China, according to the recent rating by the prestigious travel magazine, “Travel + Leisure”.

High rankings had previously gone to large hotels in Tokyo, Hong Kong or Bangkok and Vietnamese hotels seemed to have been out of the race before, but things have changed now, said the General Director of the Metropole Kai Speth.

The magazine also listed the Metropole, the only Vietnamese hotel, in the world’s 100 best hotels, while the Park Hyatt Saigon was ranked 10th among the Asia’s 25 leading hotels.

Experts said that the rating was objective as the results came from an open voting on the website TLWorldsBest.com.

Travellers who stayed at hotels around the world, voted for the best hotel in terms of facilities, location, food and services, and later the votes were carefully screened by ROI Research to ensure that voters were real travellers rather than hotel staff.
