Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito will pay a visit to Vietnam from February 9-15, marking his first trip to a Southeast Asian country.
Crown Prince Naruhito is scheduled to visit Hanoi, Da Nang, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City and a province in the Mekong River Delta. The tour will feature a visit to the Music Institute of Hue to learn about Nha Nhac (Royal Court Music) – part of Vietnam’s intangible cultural heritage which was recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
Vietnamese ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh said that when a member of the Japanese Royal Family visits any country, it reflects a close relationship between Japan and that nation. Therefore, this visit by Crown Prince Naruhito will bring the relationship between Vietnam and Japan to a new height, paving the way for the upcoming visits by the Emperor and Empress.
