During the event, Vietnam’s journalism managers and representatives from major newspapers and media agencies, and journalists, discussed and shared experiences in promoting advantages of the networks while minimizing disadvantages.

The workshop also focused on Vietnamese journalists’ methodology in using social networks to fulfill their assignments, and helped participants learn more about the potential of the new communication genre today.

Over the past few years, social networks in Vietnam and the rest of the world have developed and served as informal sources for journalists. Thanks to social networks, journalists are now able to better understand the tastes of their readers or clients, and advertise their professional written works and receive readers’ feedbacks.
