A report delivered at the event pointed out that in wartime, Ha Nam province’s leadership and people courageously combated while boosting production to provide supplies to those in theaters. This greatly contributed to the final victory of the national liberation and reunification cause. After the national liberation, the country embarked on the renewal process, the Northern province of Ha Nam experienced rapid economic growth thanks to its economic restructure in line with the nation’s industrialization and modernization. Its agricultural production made breakthroughs in productivity, quality, output, and efficiency. Ha Nam is one of the eight provinces with all of its communes meeting all criteria of the new-style rural area building program, and its average income per capita is ten times higher than it was in 1997 when the province was re-established.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh praised and congratulated the province on its achievements over the past 130 years. She expressed her strong belief that the Party Organization, authorities, and people of Ha Nam province will successfully carry out the Resolution of the 20th provincial Party Congress and the Resolutions of the 12th National Party Congress and upcoming 13th National Party Congress. The Vice President urged the province to promote the movement of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and lifestyle, implement the Resolution of the fourth plenum of the 12th Party Congress on building and revamping the Party, build a healthy and strong Party and political system, and raise the human resource quality.
Vice State President Thinh also urged Ha Nam province to further promote its potential and strength as a Southern gateway to Hanoi and mobilize and effectively use all resources to strengthen its technical infrastructure in industrial parks, waste treatment system, and high-tech medical centers. The province should also accelerate its administrative reform, develop competent personnel, promote the application of science and technology to production, develop hi-tech agriculture production and support- and processing-industry, and raise the quality of healthcare services and tourism.
At the celebration, on behalf of the Party and State, Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh handed over the first-class Independence Order to the Party Organization, authorities, and people of Ha Nam province.
