PANO - A delegation from the Hanoi city's authority, led by Politburo member and Secretary of the city’s party committee Pham Quang Nghi, on October 6th offered incenses and observed a minute of silence in memory of fallen soldiers at the Heroic Martyrs Monument on Bac Son street, Hanoi.

On behalf of the city's authority and people, the delegates expressed their deep respect for and gratitude to heroes and martyrs as well as their determinations to build a modern, and prosperous capital city, deserving to be the heart of the country.

The delegates also laid wreaths at Mai Dich National Cemetery, and offered incense at a statute on Hang Dau Street in memory of the deceased senior revolutionary leaders. Besides, the delegation visited and presented gifts to families of the city's former leaders.

The same day, the city's authority held a ceremony to confer independence and labour orders on former leaders serving the city in different periods.
