PANO - A 22.6m flagpole was inaugurated on Tran island of Co To island district, Quang Ninh province on August 22nd.

The construction started in March 2015 at a cost of nearly VND 2 billion, of which VND 1.3 billion was funded by the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) and the remaining from the Quang Ninh provincial youth union.

The flagpole, along with other six similar constructions at the country's outpost islands, aims to raise youths' responsibility in safeguarding the national sovereignty over sea and islands.
