The flag raising was conducted as part of a tour to climb to Mt. Fansipan, which was launched on November 1st with the participation of 71 amateur climbers from domestic and international travel agencies.
On the evening of November 2nd, a closing and awards ceremony was held at Quan Yard, Sa Pa Town. Climbers Nguyen Tien Vung and Dao Manh Hung, from a business team from eight Northwestern provinces, shared the first prize for male climbers while the first prize for females went to Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy from Buffalo Tours and Vo Thi Thuy An from Vitour Danang.
For group prizes, the business group from eight Northwestern provinces ranked first, followed by Viettravel, and Vitour Danang and Buffalo Tour.
On this occasion, the organising panel posted a module on www.fansipanvietnam.com to honor those conquering Mt. Fansipan, with the aim of restricting the damage caused by carving on trees and stone on Mt. Fansipan.
Every five years, the organising panel will present a special prize for a mountaineer with the highest number of times climbing Mt. Fansipan.
